Firefox was recently updated on my 64 bit system. All of the bookmarks that I categorized over time are missing as is the menu bar.

Is this standard behavior or has something gone wrong?

They should be under the "Library" section.Press Menu button (three horizontal lines at the right top corner) to see that section.
Or you can get your menu bar back: just press keyboard Alt button. Then go to "View" -> "Toolbar" menu and check "Menu bar" option.

Thanks. Everything is back except the menubar I use constantly. Seems like a poor choice to remove the favorite, most comfortable parts to your app.

Oh, well. I still have Chromium.

The right mouse button in the tab bar gives you a menu to enable/disable the menu bar.

This is a common problem with applications that gain telemetry. Privacy conscious users disable the telemetry. The vendor assumes that the telemetry is an accurate representation of how the application is used (but it is not accurate), then makes decisions based on that flawed data.
