Yeah, the forced change from WWF to WWE was lame. As if anyone would confuse profession wrestling with the Panda people.

I don't think anyone would confuse the two, but you could never have learned about the Panda People because no one but Panda People ever heard about that group. So I can see an argument about being relegated to obscurity. Something about the Fund part of the name always seemed questionable, so they had a perfect opportunity to re-brand and gain credibility (and possibly get some money by "selling" the 3 letters). Although it is probably more honest than the (un)Ethical group.

97 is impressive. I knew her mostly as one of the annoying Hollywood Squares personalities on 70's television that was famous for being famous.

She had a very impressive Broadway and movie career before the Squares.

yeah. Broadway is something I never could get into. Musicals annoy me for the most part. But for those into it, Channing was apparently quite skilled in the craft.

The movie Thoroughly Modern Millie is the first thing I always think of when I hear Carol Channing. "RASPBERRIES!"

I remember him from It Ain't Half Hot Mum, which was brilliant at the time , suspect it may have aged a bit - but I'm not going to have the chance to check because :

Quote:
The series is no longer repeated on television in the UK.[2] Some critics viewed the casting of the Anglo-Indian actor Michael Bates as the Indian bearer Rangi Ram as an example of blackface

Of PC-ism.
