Hey,

please try the stable version of simple-scan, if you have not done this already. Otherwise: What is the output of the following commands:

Code:

equery u sane-backends
scanimage -L
groups
/etc/init.d/saned status

And which scanner you are using?

Hey,

did downgrade to 3.30.2.
scaneimage -L =>
Code:
device `hpaio:/net/HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M277dw?ip=192.168.1.201' is a Hewlett-Packard HP_Color_LaserJet_MFP_M277dw all-in-one

groups => ... scanner ...
/etc/init.d/saned status => started.
make.conf =>
Code:
SANE_BACKENDS="net hp"

Started as user:
Code:
Failed to register client: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "RegisterClient" with signature "ss" on interface "org.xfce.Session.Manager" doesn't exist
(simple-scan:6572): dconf-CRITICAL **: 15:44:59.479: unable to create file '/var/run/user/1000/dconf/user': Permission denied.  dconf will not work properly.

I thought so. This might make problems, so please first check if the scanner is working over USB or not.
