Problem:
EXWM's resolution is off for a few seconds after launching. It fixes itself after a couple seconds. Interestingly, when my .emacs is blank, it does not fix itself. I am unsure whether this is a question for this forum, or one specific to emacs.

Info
When I run

Code:
startx

I immediately get a white square taking up most of my screen, from the top left. It then resizes a couple of times, and eventually fills the screen. I'm trying to find out why it's doing this so I can fix it. I have tried screwing with .emacs a bit, but nothing has been of any help yet. I will include it here if requested. In case it's of interest, here is my .xinitrc, and some xrandr scribbles I've tried to work with:

Code:

#!/bin/sh

userresources=$HOME/.Xresources
usermodmap=$HOME/.Xmodmap
sysresources=/etc/X11/xinit/Xresources
sysmodmap=/etc/X11/xinit/Xmodmap

# xrandr --output LVDS1 --scale 1x1

# merge in defaults and keymaps

# start some nice programs

if [ -n "`/etc/X11/chooser.sh`" ]; then
 command="`/etc/X11/chooser.sh`"
else
 failsafe="yes"
fi

if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ] ; then
 for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/?* ; do
  [ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
 done
 unset f
fi

# if [ -n "$failsafe" ]; then
#  exwm &
#  xclock -geometry 50x50-1+1 &

#  xterm -geometry 80x20-1+1 &
# exec xterm -geometry 44x10+101+100
# fi

exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session emacs

Looking at my /var/log/Xorg.0.conf, I note the different resolutions on the tail end of the text (which correlates to the different cycles and sizes I observe):
