Hi!

I'm just wondering what the best way to create a mod_* ebuild for apache is.

Should I expect that there are users which use both apache1 and apache2
on one system, or it is save to assume that only one major version of apache
is installed?

The mod_scgi ebuild for examble is both in one, but I could only install it
for either apache1 or apache2, not for both at the same time (or did I
something wrong in the emerge?). SLOT is set by a script inside the ebuild.

If it is better to make two ebuilds (one for apache1 and one for apache2),
how should they be named or versioned? The normal way for gentoo is
same package name, different version (and slot). In this case the version
is the same, so I should add some prefix / postfix to the version. Are there
guidelines for this?

I hope there is someone out there who knows to solve this 'the right way'.

Thanks in advance.

Oliver.

Got my answer via bugzilla (Bug 34213).
