i'am using 'gentoo-mate' live ebuilds, now some packages failed e.g > mate-applets < sadly.

how can i tell emerge or modify the ebuild to download an older commit than the current one ?

because i know that some commits / versions before, i could at least install all mate live packages.

to also avoid confusion when i use depclean, because mate is not completely merged now.

--

i could manually compile and install these missing packages, to use mate 9999 desktop, but the system will not notice this.

thx

Just set EGIT_COMMIT variable, with commit desired, in ebuild

I would do that with package.env... for example

/etc/portage/package.env/mate
Code:
mate-base/mate-applets mate/mate-applets.conf

/etc/portage/env/mate/mate-applets.conf
Code:
EGIT_COMMIT="yourgitcommithere"

If you have <cpupower-4.13 seems yes, see https://bugs.gentoo.org/593470
