Hi,
i've installed a new HD and on boot the hd is found, but when i try to use it, there is no /dev/hdd or /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target1/ .... But on boot the kernel finds this device (hdd) and devfsd is running.
With an Knoppix live CD everything works perfectly.
Has anybody an Idea?
Bye,

not sure why its not working, can you send more info?
dmesg | grep -i ide
fdisk -l
ls /dev/hd*
do the files in /proc/ide/* say anything?
how is your hardrive attached? (is it the slave on 2nd ata connection?) |
