I uninstalled sys-devel/binutils by accident. How can I install it again?

You can download binary from here, put it in /usr/portage/packages/sys-devel/ and than run emerge -K binutils _________________ Questions are guaranteed in life; Answers aren't. |

Two pieces of cleanup. First,was slightly incorrect, resulting in binutils being added to your @world set, which might cause issues down the road. The command should've been Code: | emerge -K1 binutils | (but don't run that now). To clean that up, run Code: | emerge --deselect binutils | This doesn't uninstall anything bust just removes binutils from the @world set.
Second, since the binary you downloaded will not have been built with your exact local settings (selected compiler, USE flags, etc.), you should rebuild binutils from source. Minimally, that would beAll of this should be (relatively) quick and (totally) painless.
