charles17 ... often ::mv is targeting ~arch, and here you have stable =dev-libs/glib-2.52.3 but require >2.53.4 (so, looking at the available packages on ::gentoo and ::mv that would be 2.54.3-r6::gentoo). The ebuild's DEPEND should reflect this, but doesn't.

HTH & best ... khay

If you used the standard gentoo build it would pick it up properly

Anon-E-moose ... don't quote me but I think the ::mv version has various patches to remove and/or limit the dependency on atk-bridge ... I remember some discussion of this, but the details are hazy.

it does now that I think about it, since I generated the patches :oops:

They could also just bump up the glib version with one-shot for the mv version

either of these should work
Code:
[-P-] [ ~] dev-libs/glib-2.54.3-r6:2
[-P-] [ ~] dev-libs/glib-2.56.2:2

Thenks for your replies and sorry for delay.
Bumping the glib version is not an option for my mostly stable system.
I am still having x11-libs/gtk+-3.22.30-r1:3::mv
But I think I should try applying those patches myself via /etc/portage/patches and get rid of the mv repository.
Would that work?
