Hi!

I can't get my box to boot gentoo. I have tried to follow the installation manual, but with no luck.

The handbook doesn't seem to be correct on behalf of the partitioning schemes.

After some tries, i got grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot to complete without errors. But still the system wont boot.

Can anyone please give me a valid partitioning scheme along with the file systems and a working grub-install for given scheme?

Any other hints, especially to a correct installation howto for UEFI would also be highly appreciated.

thx & cu,
ada

Welcome to Gentoo.

At what stage it stops booting?

First, firmware searches for boot device, is it found?
Then firmware executes bootloader, does this happen?
Then bootloader loads kernel, does it get that far?
Then kernel loads, mounts root filesystem and runs init system. Does it get there and errors perhaps?
