Hi,

After I changed from KDE Plasma 5 to XFCE4 environment, I have an issue with the Log Off menu which is in the Panel's right edge.
There the 'Switching User' and 'Power Off' are sometimes grey or if not, then the following behavior is present.
After I click on Power Off, I ended up on the Login screen of the SDDM and there is nothing happen. I must to click on the login screen on the Power Off button again, to start powering off the laptop.

How can I solve this problem?

Hello,
the Xfce4 user who want to power off the system may not have the appropriate permissions to do so. I only disconnect from Xfce4 so, I never encounter this problem and need to resolv it but I have hear it can be the cause specially if it poweroff correctly from the display manager.

# /etc/init.d/consolekit status
* status: started
# /etc/init.d/dbus status
* status: started

What permission is needed for an user to can use XFCE menu to power off the machine?
Edit:
I found this on the www:
Code:
xfce4-power-manager --dump

---------------------------------------------------
Xfce power manager version 1.6.1
With policykit support
Without network manager support
---------------------------------------------------
Can suspend: False
Can hibernate: False
Authorized to suspend: False
Authorized to hibernate: False
Authorized to shutdown: False
Has battery: True
Has brightness panel: True
Has power button: True
Has hibernate button: True
Has sleep button: True
Has LID: True

So how can I get the permission for suspend, hibernate, shutdown?

So how can I get the permission for suspend, hibernate, shutdown?

I found the solution, that works! See bellow.
I created the file: /etc/polkit-1/rules.d/20-admin.rules and added these in to it:
Code:
polkit.addAdminRule(function(action, subject) {
    return ["unix-group:wheel"];
})

My user account is already in the wheel group.
The command:
Code:
xfce4-power-manager --dump

gives now a little different output compared to the previous one:
---------------------------------------------------
Xfce power manager version 1.6.1
With policykit support
Without network manager support
---------------------------------------------------
Can suspend: True
Can hibernate: True
Authorized to suspend: True
Authorized to hibernate: True
Authorized to shutdown: True
Has battery: True
Has brightness panel: True
Has power button: True
Has hibernate button: True
Has sleep button: True
Has LID: True

So, from now one I can reboot or shutdown my system from the XFCE Action menu out there.
