I've emerged app-emulation/open-vm-tools: it successfully installed with following warnings
Code:

*   CONFIG_VMWARE_BALLOON:      is not set when it should be.
*   CONFIG_VMWARE_VMCI:         is not set when it should be.
*   CONFIG_VMWARE_VMCI_VSOCKETS:        is not set when it should be.

I've rebooted but mouse integration doesn't work and the screen doesn't resize upon resizing the VM's window.
I have installed gnome-nosystemd.

So .. set those missing options from warnings in kernel ? Compile, install kernel , try again ?

Btw. is gentoo in VM, or you using VM from gentoo ?

Gentoo is the guest, it is the virtual machine; Windows is the host in which Gentoo is running as VM. I have enabled
Code:
CONFIG_VMWARE_VMCI
CONFIG_VMWARE_VMCI_VSOCKETS

but couldn't find CONFIG_VMWARE_BALLOON though search says
Code:
Symbol: VMWARE_BALLOON [=n]                                             │
  │ Type  : tristate                                                        │
  │ Prompt: VMware Balloon Driver                                           │
  │   Location:                                                             │
  │     -> Device Drivers                                                   │
  │ (1)   -> Misc devices                                                   │
  │   Defined at drivers/misc/Kconfig:406                                   │
  │   Depends on: VMWARE_VMCI [=m] && X86 [=y] && HYPERVISOR_GUEST [=n]

there is no vmware ballon driver in ->Device Drivers -> Misc devices

According to the output you showed, you have not enabled one of the prerequisites. You will not be shown the option, nor be permitted to enable it, until that prerequisite is enabled. You should use search to find and enable HYPERVISOR_GUEST, since it is currently disabled.

though I have enabled hypervisor and vsockets, I think doing
Code:

rc-update add vmware-tools default
rc-service vmware-tools start

worked out. Previously I am using "defaults" instead of "default".

Now auto resize is working but not mouse integration!

Set Edit->Preferences->Input->Optimize_mouse_for_games: Never.
Add following lines to VirtualMachine.vmx
Code:

mouse.vusb.enable = "TRUE"
mouse.vusb.useBasicMouse = "FALSE"

This worked!

But ShareMouse (to control windows pc from my Mac) has stopped working inside VM!

Before I start to rely on vnc viewer, restarting Windows or unistalling airfoil, a zero-conf network dependent which might interfere with ShareMouse udp comm link might have fixed the ShareMouse working inside the VM.

A happy ending on switching to Gentoo from Arch.
