Pi3 genup emerge sync failing portage verification [solved]

When I try and run genup, I get this:

Code: Select all

hecking master signature on gentoo repo...
porthash: Using public key 09F2FF455D90CAF4
porthash: Entering /usr/portage...
porthash: Verifying existing hashfile...
porthash: Hashfile signature and format valid
porthash: Computing master hash of /usr/portage, may take some time...
porthash: error: Hashfile and computed hashes DIFFER
Followed by:

Code: Select all

Action: sync for repo: gentoo, returned code = -3
Action: sync for repo: sakaki-tools, returned code = 0
Action: sync for repo: rpi3, returned code = 0

 * emerge --sync failed
 * Time statistics:
   617 seconds for syncing
   625 seconds total

* genup: Error: Caught signal - exiting
So I've found a few other posts with similar, and worked through some of the suggestions, as well as disabling verification, but no joy. Kind of stuck, here. Any suggestions?

Well, it looks like there is a bug already filed on a manifest hash issue. Here's how I solved it:

Code: Select all

# mv /usr/portage /usr/old_portage
# mkdir /usr/portage
# mkdir /usr/portage/distfiles
# mv /usr/old_portage/profiles /usr/portage
# genup -v
