Hello,

I'm newbie and can't get any sound from hdmi. This is newly installed gentoo with systemd and i3.
Alsamixer is unmuted and i have tried different device numbers in /etc/asound.conf.

Kernel: https://pastebin.com/z5BPiRgk

Code:

speaker-test

speaker-test 1.1.2

Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 1 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib /var/tmp/portage/media-libs/alsa-lib-1.1.2/work/alsa-lib-1.1.2/src/pcm/pcm_dmix.c:1041:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory

Code:

cat /etc/asound.conf

defaults.pcm.!card NVidia
defaults.pcm.!device 0
defaults.pcm.!ctl NVidia

Code:

lspci -k

Code:

fuser -v /dev/snd/*
                     USER        PID ACCESS COMMAND
/dev/snd/controlC0:  imbaled    4287 F.... pulseaudio
/dev/snd/controlC1:  imbaled    4287 F.... pulseaudio

I unmerged pulseaudio earlier because I didn't get it work
