I've used the marvelous synergy keyboard & mouse sharing program for many years, but had not used it recently. I just tried intalling it into my stable AMD64 system (synergy verison 2.0.0) and I get this error:

synergy-core --server
[2018-08-11T15:16:55] WARNING: failed to set process uid to: -1

The client version gives the same error.
