Anyone know how well rgb is supported on the newfangled motherboards in linux? I'm guessing support is slim to nil, but if anyone knows of ways to get aura or the other rgb techs working, I'd be glad to hear. _________________

bunder,
I guess you want analogue video with sync on green?
You can make a VGA output do that if you ask Xorg nicely, with a modeline, then not connect the TTL syncs.
The key here being VGA output. They have mostly vanished ... along with CRT displays. _________________ Regards,

I just acquired a MSI X470 motherboard that I don't have up and running yet. I'm curious about the newfangled RGB thingy too, but I probably won't have time to really try much. If anything jumps out at me I will post here. The manual refers to MSI software. It apparently can drive a WS2812B strip, which could be a lot of fun to tinker with. |

Hi,
it looks like the support is, lets say, "very limited". There are a lot people, that want to use it, but in a fast search, i was only able to find this:
https://github.com/nagisa/msi-rgb
looks like there is someone out there, who wants to bring a bit rgb to linux on msi boards
