Hello,

I've recently installed gentoo with kde.
At First, when I clicked home folder in desktop it gave me a widget "Choose application" window, so I installed dolphin file manager.
Yet, with dolphin, on double click home folder I see small jumpy icon for 3 seconds, but nothing else happens.

What is wrong ?

Thank you,
ranran

How, precisely, did you install KDE?

What is the output if you launch Dolphin from the command line in a Konsole window?:

Code:
$ dolphin

Hi,

I have done the following:
1. changed to 7.1/plasma profile and updated @world.
2. emerge --ask kde-plasma/plasma-meta
3. emerge --ask dolphin

I actually unmerge dolphin, and changed to pcmanfm .
Things seems to function now correctly :)

Thanks,
ranran

To install KDE applications and supporting libraries based on Qt 5 and KDE Frameworks 5:
Code:
emerge --ask kde-apps-meta

If you don't want the complete bundle of KDE applications, you can install subsets via their meta packages:
Gentoo Wiki wrote:
kde-apps/kdeaccessibility-meta  Accessibility applications and utilities.
kde-apps/kdeadmin-meta         Administrative utilities, which helps in managing the system.
kde-apps/kdecore-meta           Basic applications such as file browser, editor, terminal emulator.

See https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/KDE for further details.
