Hello,
Is there a wiki or recommended way to download a repository ?
Or is it just a matter of choosing a close mirror and then connecting with client ftp and copying the full contents ?
Thanks,

It's generally bad netiquette to do so, though. What's the reason you want to download the whole mirror?

Yes, that's where I hope this conversation will go or else to, "I want to donate a mirror."

@ranran,
Please look into what you get when you run emerge with the --pretend and --fetchonly options. This will give you a list of files you need to download along with the URLs where they are available. You can then take that list to a machine that has network access to download just what you need.

ranran,
You really want sneakernet.
Gentoo cannot legally mirror all the files you way want, so getting the whole Gentoo source code repo will leave holes. _________________ Regards,
