| Some update during the last week appears to have caused mate-screensaver to quit working. This has happened on 2 different computers. The failure mode is that the password text entry box screensaver dialog box will not get keyboard focus so it is not possible to type a password. The buttons do respond to a mouse click, just no way to enter a password due to lack of keyboard focus.. Anyone have a fix or advice on how to troubleshoot further. Thanks. |

I'm not familiar with that one but if you recompiled any mate stuff you might want to try logging out and back in.

| I have already tried most of the obvious stuff including multiple re-boots. I tend to think this was caused by something updated in the last week since it now affects two computers. |

| Obvious work around is to uncheck "lock screen when screensaver is active" in preferences which I have done for now, but there seems to be a problem here that should be fixed. |

what version of mate are you both using? does it work if you try...

mate-screensaver &
mate-screensaver-command -l
(move mouse and unlock screen)
(wait for timeout)
(move mouse and try to unlock screen) |
