I would like to circumvent the internal DNS resolution that Google Chrome (google-chrome-unstable-69) is performing. My understanding (which I am happy to be corrected on) is that Chrome directly resolves DNS hostnames regardless of the operating system /etc/resolv.conf configuration. I get a lot of DNS delays and host not found errors.

The following invocation of Chrome didn't work at all, no traffic could resolve hostnames:
Code:
google-chrome-unstable --purge-memory-button --process-per-site --host-resolver-rules="MAP * 127.0.0.1"

I have unbound running behind connman, with connman's own caching resolver disabled (CONNMAN_OPTS="--nodnsproxy").
Code:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
# Generated by resolvconf
nameserver 127.0.0.1
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 8.8.4.4
nameserver 127.0.0.1

Does anyone have any experience getting Chrome to use a local DNS cache that they can share config for? Thanks.
