Hey everyone,
So I have successfully installed and configured my gentoo setup to what I am after (Yay). I am having one,small final issue though however. I am using i3-gaps as my WM, and have used tint2 as my panel. So far it is showing the clock (with the date underneath) and the nm-applet, but not a battery or volume icon. I have read what I could about tint (arch linux wiki, gitlab page, a few other distro forum posts) but I cannot seem to figure out how to get the icons to appear. The volume icon I can probably do without, but I desperately need a battery icon. Here is my current tint2 config:

Is the issue with the config file? Or do I need to install more packages? If so, what packages should I be after? |

| Oh... I thought it'd be in the documentation somewhere but it looks like it's not. Yes, you need that line. You also need "B" in panel_items, if it's set. |

OK good, I thought it was just me being thick. I tried your suggestions (panel_items already had B in it), but still no luck. I put battery = 1 all over the place in case I was putting the line in the wrong position. There isn't some piece of software I need? |

| Looking at the source, it also seems to ignore batteries that don't report detailed enough info. Check that yours has a /sys/class/power_supply/*/charge_now or similar file. |

Thanks for all the help Ant P. Unfortunately, I could not figure out how to get tint2 to work properly. I decided on going back to i3blocks, as it's something that I am familiar with and, in my opinion, is a lot easier to customize. |
