Team,

gcc:8 is in the tree but not keyworded. I've rebuilt my ~arm64 binhost with it.

Its mostly ready for ~arm64 but I have a few build fails to look at. They may not be compiler related at all.
Anything missing is probably available in gcc-7.x

Enjoy.

There is also a stage3 somewhere? I might give a try to the 2017 profile ....

erm67,

I'm not aware of an arm64 stage3 built with gcc-8:
There's a challenge :)

I am goig to emerge -e world in any case since the CPU has some crypto extensions that 'I think' gets used since openssh binaries compiled with "CFLAGS="-O2 -march=armv8-a+crc+fp+simd+crypto -mabi=lp64 -mcpu=cortex-a53+crc+fp+simd+crypto -ftree-vectorize -mtune=cortex-a53" do not run on a cpu without extensions.
Withy recent setup it shouldn't be a problem: os on a USB2 disk (mostly read), swap on the sd card, tmp dir on a iscsi disk over gbit eth, plus 8 CPU and 2 gb ram...
My nextcloud server is now on a rock64 board so i got this board idle and the packages versions of the 2017 profile look good :-)

I think i am going to wait a while before trying gentoo again:
