Hi in a new fresh install, i have the above problem.
I have installed nvidia drivers mesa etc...
Also when i log in enlightenment gui of any app does not appear.
I have also selected the right profile.

I am not sure if the same issue or if my comment is helpful but I have had this same issue for a very long time. But if I

sudo sddm
instead of just

sddm
it works fine. I posted something about this sometime back and it was never resolved.

so you mean that i have to add sudo sddm at boot?

I have the same result trying log in kde through terminal tty1 with startx

hello gentoorockerfr,

You should first see if your basic X11 configuration works. A first-class guide comes from Sakaki.

After that, it can not hurt to take a look at the sddm-wiki.

I can login lxqt through sddm or through tty with startx..so i think that basix X11 configuration works...
i still take black screen with kde...
