I really do love Gentoo all the way, but i can't manage to install systemd version (Gnome). There are two different wiki pages about this, and i'm lost here.
I followed this page https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Systemd - That sounds convenient, using gentoo-sources all the way, then there's https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Systemd/Installing_Gnome 3 from scratch (planning to use gnome with systemd), but i can't find some of the mandatory kernel options, and there's a recommendation using both openrc and systemd in the kernel settings, and some other things that i cant find. Just curious if the wiki page is slightly out dated, or if i'm just missing something trivial,
I don't care using genkernel-next or anything likewise.
Been using 4.16.x kernels the last month(s) and am not really familiar with the options.
I guessed the kernel options that sounds most like the one in the manuals but now i've been stuck compiling gentoo-sources for about 4 hours. That use to take a couple of minutes when doing it the old way.
Is there perhaps a way getting systemd (gnome) up and running in the usual time (20-40 minutes excluding compile time)
Because i think iv'e messed up somewhere big time.
Are there pure source based distros with systemd (not binary ones, i use Arch Linux as well) |
