Hello,

after recent update of system my headphones start misbehave:

a. sound doesn't switch to headphones after i plug them in, instead i need go to alsamixer and mute speakers output and unmute headphones output
b. if i plug headphones (jack 3.5) all way in it doesn't work, i need left it 1mm-2mm unplugged to it actually work

1. I have Dell Vostro 5468
2. I don't use pulseaudio
3. alsa-lib-1.1.2, alsa-utils-1.1.2, gentoo-sources-4.17.0
4. On Windows (dual boot) or Xubuntu (USB live) it works just fine

5. alsa-info.sh

6. /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf
7. /usr/src/linux/.config
8. lspci -k -s 00:1f.3
9. /proc/asound/cards
10. dmesg | grep snd

Thank you for any suggestion.

Code:
#options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-mic
#options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi

I would re-enable this, many codecs are not using default pin but set by manufacturer.
You have a real lot of options for dell, see https://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Documentation/sound/alsa/HD-Audio-Models.txt
The good one to use depends on your card codec, you can check what codec the card use with head -1 /proc/asound/card0/codec#0
