if i emerge it, i get error:
Quote:

!!! ERROR: Could not find a vm matching: oracle-jdk-bin-9

it's an error message but portage install the package (jdk) successfully.
also when i command:
Quote:
java-config --list-available-vms
i get:
Quote:
The following VMs are available for generation-2:

and thats it. there is nothing there.

also if i command:
Quote:
eselect java-vm list

i get:
Quote:
Available Java Virtual Machines:
(none found)

(oracle-jre-bin is installed successfully without any error message)

What version you installed? With 1.8 here no problem
Code:
# eselect java-vm list
Available Java Virtual Machines:
  [1]   oracle-jdk-bin-1.8  system-vm

fedeliallalinea thank you very much!
i downgraded to stable branch, both oracle's jre and jdk and now i can open those JNLP files!
(there is a FAQ on the site where the JNLP files come from and it said that there is a problem with icedtea and they suggest using the oracle java).

also i didnt USE the nsplugin or javafx.
and i also remove the jre.
i see it can work (the JNLP files) just with the jdk.

so problem solved i think :-).

I'm glad you resolved.
I tried also me to download java-9 but java-config or eselect can't work.
Maybe installing eselect-java from java overlay but not tried.

i have another question.
it's working OK as i said before but every time i open jnlp file i get warning:
java update needed.
your java version is out of date.
Click Update to install the recommended latest version.
Click Block to stop Java content in your browser or Later to
continue and be reminded again later.

i can mark:
do not ask again until the next update is available (so i mark it of course).

and than i press Later.

but everytime i open jnlp file i get the same warning message.
i want to disable this message.
how can i do this?

(i'm using stable oracle jdk bin).
