Hi,

As every one form Europe knows about new RODO / GDPR data protection rules from 25th of May 2018, I would like to ask you for some tips for Gentoo business users. I think I could be a good topic to share some information.

My first 3 questions are:
[1] Is it possible to encrypt a folder (KDE desktop), so an access could be only after putting a password?
[2] Is it possible to encrypt all emails and access to kmail/kontact by password?
[3] Is it possible to encrypt entire partition by password?

I use stable amd64 & KDE desktop system.

regards,

Many thanks for all the clues.

I got another question, what if eg. I lost power (or I need to do hard reset) and I need to repair file integrity eg. by fsck or during the system restart. Is there any danger, as after such event I could have no access to my data?

There is always the possibility that fsck can't repair the hard disk from a lost power/hard reset, the solution is to backup important data with regularity.
For power loses you can also buy a UPS
