Sorry if this is the wrong subforum, but not sure where to ask this...
Recently I upgraded everything through portage and have noticed that /var/log/Xorg.0.log no longer is being written, but it always was before as far as I'm aware...
I'm using sddm as my login manager and plasma5 as my desktop, and starting them through the /etc/init.d/xdm script that I've added to the default runlevel (I've always used these this way, nothing new)
I was looking for /var/log/Xorg.0.log first of all because mouse acceleration seems to be enabled and I was hoping to see if it was actually using my configuration from /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d anymore, only to find that it no longer gets written when sddm starts.
Any clues? Is this something I did somehow?
Edit: A sidenote that I forgot to add is that if I start an X server on display :1 manually through the X executable, it does write a log - /var/log/Xorg.1.log. Just none for starting through the xdm init script it seems |

svxs ...
not using xdm but I expect this is due to USE="-suid" on x11-base/xorg-server, you should still have the log under ~/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log.
