with kde bluedevil I can scan and request to pair phone and phone gets a passkey yet at the very end of the process bluedevil says connection to phone (android 7) has failed. Pairing to laptop from phone causes bluetooth to ask if pin is correct - i hit "PIN correct" and no connection happens the pins are correctly shown on phone and yet the connection always fails. I tried to do this thru bluetoothctl yet same issue it is unconnected. Bluetooth service is in default runlevel. So I tried a usb dongle (i have bluetooth built into laptop) I scanned and with it and same issue, could not pair/connect with anything, I tried this as root as well but nothing can pair. Maybe there is some service or kernel module not loaded?

Selecting "Accept automatically" in bluedevil still requests pins and fails to connect to phone. It always displays "The setup of <phone> has failed." regardless if bluedevil is set to accept automatically. |
