Doing gentoo install on new laptop and alsa does not do Loopback Mixing because the option is simply unavalable thru Alsamixer,- Beep does not sound, it only runs quietly. Alsa works because speaker-test outputs sound.

In 'menuconfig' for example:
Code: | → Device Drivers → Sound card support → Advanced Linux Sound Architecture → Generic sound devices → Generic loopback driver (PCM) |

I don't get enable loopback mixing on main menu from alsamixer, enabling driver only added soundcard calld Loopback which doesn't have any controls. |

It should have one playback control called PCM. You might need to index the sound cards so your standard sound starts first. I added this to my kernel command line:
Code: | snd_hda_intel.index=0 snd_aloop.index=1 |
Or maybe you're missing the .asoundrc _________________
