|
|
I have just finished installing gentoo on a desktop machine.
System profile: Code: | [18] default/linux/amd64/17.0/desktop/gnome/systemd (stable) * |
NO custom settings in Code: | /etc/portage/make.conf |
Everything is OK, with one exception: gstreamer / totem does not play any video content. Very strange. Warnings like:
Code: | ** Message: Missing plugin: gstreamer|1.0|totem|MPEG-4 Video (Advanced Simple Profile) デコーダー|decoder-video/mpeg, mpegversion=(int)4, systemstream=(boolean)false, profile=(string)advanced-simple, level=(string)5 (MPEG-4 Video (Advanced Simple Profile) デコーダー) |
Even stranger: the sound DOES play, I can skip forwards and backwards with the mouse. There is no video on the screen. All tested files are OK with VLC.
Totem does play MP3 files and in that case also shows the album art on the screen.
Nautilus does NOT show any thumbnails, only the "film reel" icon.
I have checked the presence of "gst-plugins-*" and all the "default" plugins are installed. This must be some simple gstreamer issue, is there any way to test gstreamer performance?
On my laptop, which has the same simple setup, everything works fine.

Solved. Set ffmpg USE flag on gst-plugins-meta then emerge -auvDN world. |
