|
|
Hi,
I'm installing Gentoo for amd64, no multilib, in a Virtual Box vm.
I am using a UEFI enabled computer and defined my partitions accordingly. I configured the kernel via genkernel, and I ensured that GRUB_PLATFORMS="efi-64" was enabled and then emerged grub.
But, when I go to install it, it tells me that EFI variables are not supported on this system.
What might be causing this?
My partition table is this:
Code: | Number Start End Size File System Name Flags
1 1049KB 3146KB 2097KB grub bios_grub
2 3146KB 137MB 134MB fat32 boot boot, esp
3 137MB 674MB 537MB linux-swap(v1) swap
4 674MB 21,9GB 21,2GB ext4 primary

Thanks in advance for all the help

EFI variables are only available if you booted an EFI-aware kernel through the EFI boot path. Did you configure your VM to boot through emulated UEFI rather than emulated BIOS? |

Thank you Hu, that was my error. I didn't even knew that I could define boot type in Virtual Box.
I think I'll just have to start again.
Thanks! |
