i'm not in front of my i7 to really answer but i think the cpu use c6 to activate intel turbo by looking c6 state of its cores
a bit like if core0 is busy and other are sleeping, increase mhz of core0 |

You may have a BIOS option to disable powersave features. Or do you mean, manually from like a menu?
I would think that as long as you have adequate cooling to run wide open the whole time, you should be able to do so. I'm not sure I understand why you would want to though. There's a significant difference in the amount of power needed between modes. |
