Hi,
There is many games on GitHub, eg. roleplaying Cataclysm DDA:
https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA
What I do usually: 1) Downloading the game, compiling, playing, 2) If there is a new version, downloading into a new folder, coping saves, playing.
I would like to know, how to have allways up-to-date game in one folder using git.
So what should I do in this example (step-by-step) 1) to install 2) to update
Source: https://github.com/CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA
My folder: /home/games/DDA-git |

By making an ebuild with -9999 version and letting portage handle it for you.
https://gpo.zugaina.org/games-roguelike/cataclysm-dda - you can add this overlay and emerge the -9999-r6 version, then just keep emerging it when you want the latest git version.
Thats how I would do it at least. |
