[Solved] Laptop with USB mouse

I use a laptop with a usb mouse, however plugging mouse in after starting xorg with kde yeilds no working usb mouse. If I plug it in before xorg starts then I believe it works just fine, however it shouldn't be this way, what can cause this?

You can post your emerge --info and emerge -pvq kde-plasma/plasma-desktop?
