Emacs

Have recently reinstalled gentoo (this time the right way....) but cannot get emacs to compile, gives me a nondescript error
i got it to work until i compiled in evolution, then it segfaulted, unemerged evolution, still segfaults, unemerged emacs but now emacs wont rebuild.....any ideas???

Try a search. Other threads have mentioned emacs and segfault errors. Here, here and here.

Or if all else fails you might try xemacs... xemacs -nw also runs in the terminal... install the fsf-compat package and you can do pretty much all you could in emacs...
