[Moderator note: this thread and the first 9 responses in it were originally attached to Typing and scrolling lag in LibreOffice due to gtk3, but are apparently a different issue. Accordingly, I moved them to a separate thread. The post had no title, and its subject is unclear, so the placeholder title is vague. OP: please amend the title as you feel appropriate. -Hu]

Hm, sooner or later you should figure out why gtk3 performs that bad on your systems. The time of the legacy gtk2 frontend is limited.

Hm gtk2 - time limited, but only one true lib those works well with gnome environment))

gtk3 - time unlimited, but works only bugs ))))

There is no indication that this statement is true in general. It seems to affect a certain setup. The same may or may not be true for any given toolkit support of LO.

Anything else you wanted to express with your post? Do you have the same problem?

So you're talking about Mate not Gnome. Both are offtopic in this thread, however, did you even try the latest Mate version before posting here, fixing those Mate-related issues as described by geki?

If i talking about gtk3 bugs!?

What latest version mate you ask? Those in portage tree with created ebuild or new builded version here http://pub.mate-desktop.org/releases/1.20/?C=M&O=D

or github version?

I think that: test portage with mate-1.20.ebuild would be interesting, but overlay is not comfortable. And mate-1.20.ebuild is not in portage tree

If gtk3 works fine with much more aplication - why i shouldn't use it?

gtk3 has bugs, gtk2 has bugs, qt4 has bugs, qt5 has bugs...

That does not mean you enter a LibreOffice support thread with your general Mate problem. Simply read the reply you got in the related thread you are already in, that you yourself posted the link to. Focus.

Good! Only 9 posts were required to finally establish why you are here! Do you understand where the problem is with that?

However it is clearly not the same bug by your description. That aside, you mentioned you have issues with several gtk3-based applications, so one would begin to search for the issue in your graphics stack. For that, please open your own thread with full disclosure (the opposite of what you did in this thread).

[Moderator note: this ends the posts that were originally attached to the LibreOffice thread.

OP: now that this thread has been split out, you can continue here without derailing the LibreOffice thread. Another new thread is not required. -Hu]

You don't have to debug the issue in order to describe to us what you see...
