I run the following:

Code:

router /etc/dhcp # /etc/init.d/dhcpd restart
 * Starting dhcpd ...
 * start-stop-daemon: failed to start `/usr/sbin/dhcpd'                                                                                     [ !! ]
 * ERROR: dhcpd failed to start

I have no logs for dhcpd in /var/log

....what can I do?

Tried:
Code:

router ~ # /etc/init.d/dhcpd restart --verbose
 * Caching service dependencies ...                                                                                                         [ ok ]
 * Executing: /lib64/rc/sh/openrc-run.sh /lib64/rc/sh/openrc-run.sh /etc/init.d/dhcpd start
 * Starting dhcpd ...
 * start-stop-daemon: fopen `//var/run/dhcp/dhcpd.pid': No such file or directory
 * Detaching to start `/usr/sbin/dhcpd' ...
 *   start-stop-daemon: failed to start `/usr/sbin/dhcpd'                                                                                   [ !! ]
 * ERROR: dhcpd failed to start

Also tried removing a "/" in /etc/init.d/dhcpd for the pid line.

Hi,

check "/var/log/syslog" for messages. And check, wether you have a dhcpd.conf in /etc/dhcp

greets, bb
