Hi All:

I changed to the new wine packaging yesterday in my attempt to getting the HP Prime windows emulator installed. Am still working on that but I have this at the end of the builds:
Code:

>>> Installing (2 of 2) app-emulation/wine-vanilla-2.0.3::wine
!!! Warning: Skipping wine-vanilla. No registered targets found.
!!! Warning: Skipping wine-any. No registered targets found.
 * Updating .desktop files database ...                                              [ ok ]
!!! Warning: Skipping wine-any. No registered targets found.
 * Updating .desktop files database ...                                              [ ok ]

 * Messages for package app-emulation/wine-any-2.21:

 * Applying the Wine-Staging patchset. Any bug reports to the
 * Wine bugzilla should explicitly state that staging was used.
>>> Auto-cleaning packages...

>>> No outdated packages were found on your system.

 * GNU info directory index is up-to-date.

!!! existing preserved libs:
>>> package: app-emulation/wine-2.3
 *  - /usr/lib32/libwine.so.1
 *  - /usr/lib32/libwine.so.1.0
 *      used by /usr/lib32/wine-any-2.21/wine/acledit.dll.so (app-emulation/wine-any-2.21)
 *      used by /usr/lib32/wine-any-2.21/wine/aclui.dll.so (app-emulation/wine-any-2.21)
 *      used by /usr/lib32/wine-any-2.21/wine/activeds.dll.so (app-emulation/wine-any-2.21)
 *      used by 1623 other files
Use emerge @preserved-rebuild to rebuild packages using these libraries

The acl error is what I am getting from the HP sw. the error appears to tell me that the recompiled packages never get installed and of course because of this it tells me to emerge them again....which I have just done and round round we go.

i've obviously messed up something in the config for the new wine layout. Any tips?

Cheers,
john

I assume these files
- /usr/lib32/libwine.so.1
- /usr/lib32/libwine.so.1.0
are use by both app-emulation/wine and app-emulation/wine-any
app-emulation/wine is no longer in portage so you should unmerge it.

Also app-emulation/wine-any is app-emulation/wine-vanilla + patches, so you don't need both.

Hello:

Fixed.

I had to manually delete
- /usr/lib32/libwine.so.1
- /usr/lib32/libwine.so.1.0

As for some reason the emerge -C wine did not get rid of those.
Once that was done, all good.

Cheers,
john
