|
|
I just switched to the Openbox winidows manager. After adding netwmpager, obconf and menumaker, Openbox does everything I want with one exception:
How do I get something like the Enlightenment Icon Box to show icons of minimized windows? I don't really want to install a task bar just to show minimized windows unless there is no other option. Suggestions? |

Thanks for the reply. I didn't really want a task bar, even a minimal one like tint2. I decided to just use the list of windows, including minimized ones, that you get with <atl><tab>. |

|
|
I don't like using a taskbar/dock/panel as I prefer it as light as possible on starting idle. But if I do lxpanel is a tiny more heavy than tint2 and many times more configurable and functional.
One thing that I use to use lxpanel for is for being able to switch between keyboard-maps with a key combination that I haven't figured out how to set across distros. So when I need another kbd-map I switch lxpanel on where I configure the kbds.
But there is another way:
/etc/default/keyboard
Code: |
# KEYBOARD CONFIGURATION FILE
# Consult the keyboard(5) manual page.
XKBMODEL="pc105"
XKBLAYOUT="us,gb,es"
XKBVARIANT="nodeadkeys"
XKBOPTIONS="grp:alt_shift_toggle"
# BACKSPACE="guess" |
If it doesn't work across all systems let me know!

I also like obmenu-generator, all the things one may need programmed in the right-click
I am addicted to it. _________________ obarun Void @ systemD Free Space |
