|
|
There were video problems with ffmpeg 3.4.0 and Kodi, that version was masked in Kodi ebuild, with ffmpeg 3.4.1 video issues are gone but now I have audio issues, audio is still there but with noises, crackling sound, it's just bad.
Going back to ffmpeg 3.3.6 solved the issue.
Anyone else with that problem?

For reference, the bug about video playback not working is https://bugs.gentoo.org/634802
If someone is able to find any other bug reports regarding ffmpeg or kodi, or talks to either of those projects and receives any information, please let me know - I'd love to fix this problem. _________________ I'm working on a variety of random things throughout Gentoo. |

Thanks for the bug report link.
There's this too : https://bugs.gentoo.org/645000
Glad it's not only me.
I'm still at ffmpeg 3.3.6, it just doesn't work with Kodi nice regarding audio, outside of Kodi ffmpeg audio is fine.
Don't know how I would fix that, I tried changing devices in Kodi and some options but nothing helped so I was forced to go back to 3.3.6, it's something in ffmpeg (I guess)
It's similar to that video bug with 3.4.0, but now instead of video it's audio. |

Ebuild fix was to block ffmpeg>=3.4.0, so it should have downgraded your ffmpeg to 3.3.6 if you already had ffmpeg 3.4.1
Try to re-emerge Kodi, that should fix it. |
