Okular has speech use flag you tried? (dependency of this use flag is dev-qt/qtspeech

Thanks,

i emerged qtspeech (wasn't easy to get my whole qt - system to 5.9  ) but the text to speech option still doesn't show up within okular.
(speech useflag is in brackets and "-speech" while emerging okular, is that the problem?)

dev-qt/qtspeech only exists since >=Qt-5.9, which is not stable, that's why USE=speech is currently in package.use.stable.mask so the dependency tree is not broken for stable users.

Code:
grep speech profiles/base/package.use.stable.mask
# Requires unstable dependency dev-qt/qtspeech.
kde-apps/kanagram speech
kde-apps/kdepim-runtime speech
kde-apps/konqueror speech
kde-apps/kpimtextedit speech
kde-apps/ktp-text-ui speech
kde-apps/okular speech
kde-frameworks/knotifications speech
kde-frameworks/ktextwidgets speech

okay, thanks!

i didn't have /etc/portage/profiles/* at all.

what file do i have to add there?
"adding package.use.stable.mask" there and adding "kde-apps/okular speech" still doesnt let me use that useflag :?

Code:
# mkdir -p /etc/portage/profile/ # without s at end
# echo "kde-apps/okular -speech" >> /etc/portage/profile/package.use.mask # '-' disable the masking provided by profile

For more information https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki//etc/portage/profile/package.use.mask
