looks like this package has been neglected. vdr has been updated but the plugin has not. ive noticed the same thing with zeromq bindings.

edit: looks like the mediacenter-overlay has a 9999 ebuild, not sure if it works, but it's better than the weird custom version in the tree.

why is there a trend to split from upstream in portage tree lately?

If you don't know what you are talking about. The ebuild currently in portage was added long before the current upstream release, and no one has taken care of that so far. It has no maintainer effectively. And as far as the upstream website is concerned, 0.3.0 is the latest release.

Do you know what a snapshot is? 0.3.0_p20130504 pre-dates the portage git migration, that happened in August 2015.

ok i see, they went from 0.3.0 to 2.3.1. still dunno why they didn't just bump the version. ncurses is the real gigantic elephant in the room that wasted alot of my time.

going somewhat off topic, but i've attempted to fix multiple problems in portage, the are mostly ignored.

I guess that's why ncurses is broken too, because the GNU website says latest release is initial release? lol

I'm only mildly interested in such back-and-forth, not maintaining either of them I'm out.
