i know it's possible to set the input bar to vi mode. Is it possible to set the buffer scroll back to vim like controls? It would even be nice to be able to enter visual mode in urxvt to be able to select text copy it and and then pasting it to the input bar. Is any of this possible? Piping the output of a command into less is meh to me. |

Yes, that's absolutely possible, and works like a charm.
Emerge the urxvt-perls package https://packages.gentoo.org/packages/x11-misc/urxvt-perls
The script you're looking for is keyboard-select
Github has the instructions and keybindings https://github.com/muennich/urxvt-perls
I've set it to Alt-Esc myself, then you go to normal mode and use all kinds of vim like stuff, like yanking stuff, etc.
The scrollback buffer works with just j/k or with Ctrl-D Ctrl-U, or Ctrl-F/Ctrl-B |
