And are you really arguing that someone following the law when they pay their taxes is a dick? There are thousands of loopholes in the tax code - does using any of them make you a dick? Or is it just this one?

I do not write off my state income tax on my federal taxers because I think it is wrong to force responsible states to pay for the idiocy of Hawaii. It's called having principles.

So now, I got a nice tax cut. I am VERY happy with it.

I never claimed any benefits either. Not even WIC when my daughter was a baby.

I wonder if you could put Hiragana in your username. You should totally get it changed to むそ.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, "muso" does fit really well within Japanese phonology. Perhaps it means something? If so, what is its 漢字?

Muso essentially means an obsessive fan of music, so something like 音楽おたき is probably the most accurate.

So is it true that the banks there make foreigners write their names in Katakana?

Fiat Chrysler announces plan to invest more than one billion dollars in Michigan plant, relocating their heavy-truck production from Mexico to Michigan, adding 2,500 new jobs and paying $2,000 bonus to U.S. employees.

There's been numerous of those types of announcements. The other one I saw today was Walmart offering bonuses, $11 to start and more benefits.

You need a Hanko for banking. I had one with Kanji that sounded like my family name.

Who here is better off because of Trump's tax cuts?

Btw, if your answer is "me", you don't have enough to hide it

Donald Trump has created a new balance where the perception of Americans has improved, world wide. I don't mean that we are better liked. I think we are perceived as more dominant. I don't know why you would bring up ankle grabbing. This is a trait of weak minded people. I think you saw a man elected president because in many ways he embodies how we Americans perceive ourselves. We are proud of our achievements and we don't need to apologize for them. It doesn't matter what he does for me. I don't need anything from him in the first place.

But nearly everyone else needs something from us. So I think it's good that we have someone who understands negotiation with parties that need more from us than we need from them. We are letting everyone know that we are boss again.

We won't know until February. That's when it goes into effect.

Yet there are many companies that are moving back to the US and/or giving large bonuses to employees, and they are crediting the Trump tax plan. I know that is not what you want to hear in your authoritarian collectivist universe, but those are facts.

The biggest thing he has done for me was to keep that psychopathic lying bitch, HRC out of the oval office. The next biggest thing is his judicial appointments he has made. Then I would have to say his relaxing of job killing regulations, and opening up Anwar oil field for energy resources.

Again, I know that in your authoritarian collectivist universe those thing do not compute, but they are all uge for the US economy.

But the most important point here is what this says about how Democrats really view Donald Trump. How can anyone rational possibly take seriously all the righteous denunciations from people like Pelosi, Schiff, and Swalwell about how Trump is a lawless, authoritarian tyrant existentially threatening American democracy when those very same people just yesterday voted in favor of vesting him the virtually limitless power to spy on Americans with no warrants or safeguards? If someone really believed those accusations about Trump — as opposed to just pretending to believe them for cynical political manipulation of their followers — how could they possibly have done what they did yesterday?

Why our elected Representatives, who swear to obey and protect the Constitution of the United States, would allow ANYONE with these powers of surveillance is beyond me. The Democrats I can understand, they have hated the Constitution for over a generation, but it is still a fairly new phenomenon that so called Conservatives have turned their back on the document.

I would think that we have had a cooling off period after 9/11 to deescalate all the kneejerk legislation, yet killing a Federal program, especially "National Security" bureaucracy is next to impossible. As it turns out, partisans have militarized the Intel community and in the best designs of J. Edgar Hoover, unelected bureaucrats are implementing "insurance" measures against elected officials.

Although he could still change his presidency by introducing things like tax cuts for the poor, environmental legislation, cooling down over North Korea, and generally being more inclusive with the world rather than divisive.

With some sensible policies then his presidency could still be a success. Although there has been none so far so I won't hold my breath.

Trump's term has been an overwhelming success so far. You just refuse to admit it.

As far as Trump successes go let's list them, shall we?

Removed the individual mandate on Obamacare. Win!

Lowered taxes. Win!

Overturned all of Obama's executive actions. Win!

Unemployment the lowest it has been in over 10 years. Win!

Highest consumer confidence in almost 20 years. Win!

Killed the disastrous TPP agreement. Win!

Eliminating waste in government and reducing burdensome regulation. Win!

Ended the abuse of the Antiquities Act for Federal land grabbing. Win!

Illegal border crossings are down. Win! Still need that wall though.

Defeated ISIS Win!

The list goes, on, and on. Trump is a strong leader and he makes me proud to be an American.
He's a man with an unique ability to tap into the zeitgeist of the moment and capitalize on it.
So that makes Trump the right man, at the right place, in the right time for the country.

This behavior is not new to Trump, it has just taken a current day message. Similarities can be seen under Bush and Reagan. As well, the "virtually limitless power to spy on Americans" is something which will transfer to the next president at the end of Trump's one or two terms. So I think it is exactly the type of people who themselves are lawless, authoritarian tyrants who WANT said power, and the believe it is only a matter of time before they gain said power which will never be ceded to anything right of political centrism. Imagine elections being between "traditional" center-left Democrats and extreme-left Sanders/Nader/Gore types of major or minor parties.

And to see the tripe on TV which pushes for that far left extremism is absolutely shocking and horrifying. Trump sneezes and the number of creases around his eyes indicate he's a racist!

I think more people are just becoming aware of what has long been the GOP's preference for people in name only and their disdain for actual people.
