I got a Sonos One, a nice book, some clothing, a gift card, and some money.

I feel good, because I gave at least twice what I received.

Some nice shirts, a nice keyboard, a few books, and some CDs.

The best gift is the incoming tax cut. That's the gift that keeps giving.

Mine is overdue. Waiting for the hammer to fall on the left.

That's excellent, except the same people who thought Hillary was going to win are going to see that and think it's for real. rick449, for example; if it didn't say The Onion all over it, he'd be forwarding it to his echo chamber, "Subject: Trump tebaggers see the light!"

I'm guessing that the fact that it is tax increase to me makes it even more of a gift to you?

I thought you wanted higher taxes...

Or do you mean that your local taxes will no longer be subsidized?

I'm okay paying higher taxes, particularly if the money is well spent.

So why are your taxes going up? Is it the removal of the "blue state subsidy" that's causing the rise?

Yea. Although I wouldn't call it that, since the blue states currently subsidize the red states. This just increases the amount by which that occurs.

I would. There's an easy fix, vote out your local and state level democrats and vote in people who have more respect for law abiding citizens than they do for illegal aliens.

I'd actually prefer that my representatives have equal respect for all humans.

Too bad your passport is for the USA and not Planet Earth.

What does a little book generated by a bureaucrat have to do with respect for other people?

Why have respect for those who have no respect for you? If someone comes into your house, uninvited, and eats your food and takes some of your cash, you'd respect them?

I respect those who do it legally. I have 0 respect for criminal illegal aliens. Japan does it right, no welfare and a deportation.

Wait, was this all about the SALT cap? Isn't that just allowing rich blue state Democrats a way to avoid paying their fair federal share? If SALT was fair to begin with, it wouldn't adversely affect blue states more than red states. I've only just come across this, so I still don't know that much about what SALT is.

Trump ought to issue his own EO, rebuffing Cuomo's. Sorry, not recognizing your early collection.

Unfortunately there is another fix. Leave the state and move to a state that still has relative freedoms and then fuck it up just like they fucked up California. It is called californication, and that is what is occurring right now. A massive flight of business out of the authoritarian hell that the democrats have created in that once great state. Hell, even the Mexicans are leaving.

Things are looking pretty good in Idaho. The state Senate is 29/35 GOP and the House is 59/70 GOP.

You know what, I'll let you guys in on a little secret. If you want to keep your state from becoming Californicated, you have to scare off the liberals:

1. Allow guns on campus.
2. Enact permitless carrying.

And most of all...ABOVE ALL ELSE...

3. Revoke the rights of any entity subordinate to the State to regulate anything at all related to the 2nd Amendment.

Idaho did #1 in 2014 (I think), #2 in 2016, and #3 in 2008 (I think). And as I said, things are pretty good here.

Sad that even a Merry Christmas thread has become politicized.
