I'm running a very mature and up-to-date stable x86 Gentoo system. I have been using Firefox forever, but an update on 12/14 to the 52 series (emerge went without error) resulted in segmentation fault. I tried every available version, 52.2.0, 52.4.0, and 52.5.2 by masking the others but without success and continued segmentation fault.
I finally emerged firefox-57.0.1 ~x86 with its dependencies and this version appears to run fine.
However, java web content does not display. That's very unsatisfactory. Apparently I'll have to ditch Firefox. Any fixes would be appreciated. _________________ Andy Figueroa

java or javascript?
Does firefox-bin work?
I haven't had problem with x86 firefox, just that it's slow... also depends on the specific websites you visit of course, x86 firefox works just fine on f.g.o. _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
