Hi,
currently there is a lot breaking, starting with fontconfig updates incompatible to infinality: post 8195748
bug 650248: media-libs/fontconfig-2.13.0: fonts are too small and ugly when using media-fonts/infinality-ultimate-meta
There I see graphic errors like flickering and not updating anymore but got that all solved by switching back to media-libs/fontconfig-2.12.6.
Then XFCE was completely broken by Bug 650228 - x11-base/xorg-server-1.19.99.901-r1 renders XFCE session unenterable (segfault at libxcb-glx.so.0.0.0) .
This morning I got horrible graphics errors back on radeon. Last week I reproduced that this is caused by media-libs/fontconfig-2.13* but today I'm still on 2.12.6, and got that errors. I've seen x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-18.0.1 was updated, and previous x11-drivers/xf86-video-ati-18.0.0 is already removed, so can't test against the previous without creating some binary package from backup.
Then I found out, the errors are only after switching to 3 screens using xrandr. No error with only 1 screen, and no errors after configuring the 3 screens manually in xfce4-display-settings. At least I can work again. Code: | #!/usr/bin/env bash
xrandr --output VGA-0 --auto --output LVDS --off --output DisplayPort-2 --auto --output DisplayPort-1 --auto
sleep 3
xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of DisplayPort-1
xrandr --output DisplayPort-2 --left-of DisplayPort-1 |
Then I see tons of this radeon errors in the log. I'm not sure what to file a bug report for? Any idea?
Several times now my desktop rendered unusable.

I'll postpone my world upgrades then.
But as for your problem have you tried: as root: | emerge -D @{preserved,{,x11-}module}-rebuild | ... if it helps.
The errors you get look like protocol version incompatibly...
Also little off-topic: I've been thinking of xfce switch for few weeks. I currently use i3 with Thunar and some other xfce components too. I just need to see if xfce4-wm has all the tiling features I need. And if seperate desktops per screen/output is possible (like it's in default i3). However this fontconfig mess going on isn't helpful at all. _________________ ..: Zucca :..

Just wondering, does it happen if you configure one monitor above the other two (so the total width is under 4096)? |

No, --right-of.
This morning I also had the errors after X login without xrandr. It was solved only by logout and another login without X restart. I don't think it's broken hardware as I heard about equal radeon errors on #gentoo-desktop@Freenode. _________________ HP ZBook Power 15.6" G8 i7-11800H|HP EliteDesk 800G1 i7-4790|HP Compaq Pro 6300 i7-3770 |
