Hey, I'm trying to update my laptop and it fails at sys-libs/libcxxrt.

I'm not 100% sure where the issue lies.

I did add ABI_x86="32 64" to my make.conf earlier to get rid of like 80 slot conflicts I had, I'm also not sure if this has something to do with it.

emerge --info '=sys-libs/libcxxrt-0.0_p20160922::gentoo':

Hey, I removed the ABI_x86="32 64" from make.conf and got the slot conflicts back. Then I sat down, stared at it, and just went through it, it should be all set for now!

It seems a bug.
Try relative patch

Hi,
I found this thread because I have the same error (I am recompiling the whole system as suggested for the new 17.0 profiles).

Unfortunately I don't know how to apply the patch; how can I do it?

Thanks in advance.

Use /etc/portage/patches but remember to create /etc/portage/bashrc because this ebuild use EAPI 5 and epatch_user is not mandatory

Code:

sudo mkdir -p /etc/portage/patches/sys-libs/libcxxrt-0.0_p20160922/
sudo curl https://github.com/pathscale/libcxxrt/commit/db54f535fc67703b2993b9b2d3fc7ede7a608936.diff -o /etc/portage/patches/sys-libs/libcxxrt-0.0_p20160922/0001-profile17.patch

(Once you have setup /etc/portage/bashrc of course)

then go back to merging @world again, (for your profile/gcc change)

After applying the patch can I just run emerge -e sys-libs/libcxxrt, or do I have to run emerge -e @world? Only reason I ask is because I ran emerge -e @world --keep-going and already have the rest of they system re emerged...

An alternative solution

Is the patch (or the new version) in the Gentoo tree yet?

Great, thank you. I'm running unstable, so that's good enough for me.
