[SOLVED] libreoffice 5.4.2.2 and 5.4.3.2 do not open docx!

Hi,

I just noticed that since last upgrade of libreoffice it does not open docx files. I checked on 5.4.2.2 and 5.4.3.2 and also on libreoffice-bin-5.4.2.2 -- all versions currently available in the portage. Unfortunately older versions were conveniently removed, so I'm stuck without any way to open docx files...

The error encountered every time I try to open a docx is below. Don't you have such problems? I found no recent reports about it. Maybe someone has a suggestion?

Which compiler and version are you using? Does this happen if you change the compiler settings or compiler (via package.env)?

I'm very interested on this. I personally don't handle any doc or docx files, but my girlfried is having problems with libreoffice freezing when trying to save on docx format. Although she's using Fedora, but this might still be related...

It took some time, but I checked: gcc version does not matter. I have two gcc versions installed and check both of them on app-office/libreoffice-5.4.3.2. I always get the 'invalid pointer' error opening a docx.

Did you try to change the compiler settings? Like -O3 to -O2 or even to -O1.

Also since the error seems to happen when free() is being run, it might be worth to try if setting or unsetting jemalloc USE -flag does anything.

I have a similarly looking problem both with libreoffice-5.4.2.2 and libreoffice-bin-5.4.2.2.
Probably, the latter is compiled with fairly conservative options.

On opening various files (including native .odt and .ods) libreoffice crashes with

I had two weeks ago when I wanted to fill out a premade xlsx file that libreoffice crashed everytime. repeatly.

Was a hassle, to fill out 6 fields in an hour because of htose crashes.

I wonder if this is then any related to the LO docx problem we have here.
I need to re-test this on few Gentoo installs. On Fedora laptop LO does not crash, but freezes when trying to save as docx.

The best possible solution would be if the whole world would stop using docx files althogether. :P

Apparently is is not only docx but xlsx and all zipped oo xml based formats.

Tried rebuilding all dependencies like zip libxml2 etc no success.

libreoffice-6.0.9999 has same issue.

Has anyone found any solution ?
